Santa Fe is the capital of the US state of New Mexico, which celebrates its anniversary. It is especially popular due to its unique architecture called pueblo. An interesting attraction is also a chapel built according to the French fashion called Loretto.

They opened a school and needed to build a chapel in the area. The construction of the chapel was completed in 1878, although the interior was completed with a Gothic altar and frescoes in the 1890s.

They shipped the stained glass from Paris took it by boat to New Orleans, St Louis, Missouri, and finally by stagecoach to Santa Fe.

But the chapel became famous thanks to the spiral "Miraculous Staircase". They didn't use nails or glue. Moreover, it does not have the usual central support like elsewhere.

The school closed in 1968, but the chapel remained. Today it is in private hands and is mainly used for wedding ceremonies and concerts.

Otevřeli tady školu a potřebovali v areálu vybudovat kapli.

Vitráže dovezli z Paříže lodí přes New Orleáns, St Louis v Missouri a nakonec dostavníkem do Santa Fe.
